Azure Interview Questions and Answers – PART 2

Q 1 What is Azure Tables?

Ans Azure Table is a NoSQL or non-relational structured database solution offered by Microsoft Azure. It’s schema-less design and the ability to hold Key/Value data set is heavily used in applications intended for various sectors such as mobile computing, gaming, IoT, etc. With the everchanging and dynamic needs of modern applications, this schema-less database is very easy to adapt with very minimal to absolute no changes. One can store any number or records in a Azure table or create any number of table in a Azure Storage Account, to the limits of the Azure Storage Account.  For more, read at Microsoft Azure Course in Pune.

Q 2 What is Azure Resource Locks?

Ans Azure allows its customers to protect their resources, resource group or subscriptions from accidental deletion or modification. To protect our resources, Azure provides us with two different options, CanNotDelete and ReadOnly. With the lock setting configured to CanNotDelete, an authorised user can read and modify the resource, but won’t be able to delete it. And with the lock setting configured as ReadOnly, an authorised user may only be able to read details of a resource, but, won’t be able to delete or modify the said resource.

Q 3 What is Azure RBAC?

Ans RBAC stands for Role Based Access Control. It’s an Azure Resource Management feature that one can use to authorize fine-grained Azure Resource access management for users created in Azure AD. RBAC allows organizations to provide specific permissions to users for dealing with Azure Resources. On almost all Azure Resources, there’s a pane, known as “Access Control (IAM)” also called Identity and Access Management. Here, Microsoft Azure Classes in Pune define RBAC roles describing user and their privileges on the said resource. At the same pane, one can easily add a new user and assign him role, that describes the user privilege on the said resource. Applications can also be assigned a role, so they can read or write configuration settings or data from the resource they are applied on.

Q 4 What is Azure RBAC Role?

Ans Azure resources of different types can be configured with a wide variety of permissions. These collection of permissions is called as Azure RBAC Role. Roles grants users, permissions that they need to have in order to manage resources. The Access Management (IAM) pane displays the users and their assigned roles, as well a new user can be added and a role can be assigned on him to manage the resource. Azure provides with standard roles and one can even create custom role.

Q 5 What is Azure AzCopy?

Ans AzCopy is an Azure provided command line utility meant to copy or move data to Azure BLOB or Azure File Share in Azure Storage Account. AzCopy can also be used to sync data in-between local to BLOB or File Share, or in-between BLOB and File Share. It can also be used to create Azure BLOB Containers or File Shares.

Q 6 What is Azure MAR’s Agent?

Ans Azure Recovery Service Vault requires an MARS Agent to be installed on the machines, that needs to backup their files, directories or system state. Users can schedule the backup or if required, can take an instant backup of the data.

Q 7 What is Azure Recovery Service Vault?

Ans An Azure Recovery Services vault is a storage service in Azure that stores recovery points and backups of On-Prem and Azure resources. Backup policies associated with the policy protected virtual machines are also contained with Recovery Services vault. Recovery Services vaults can be used to backup data for various Azure Resources such as Azure VMs (Windows or Linux), Azure SQL databases, etc. Recovery Services vaults also support all Windows Servers, System Center Data Protection Manager, Microsoft Azure Backup Server, etc.

Q 8 What is Azure Network Watcher?

Ans An Azure Network Watcher is a network analyser that is used to diagnose, gain insight or monitor network performance in between various points in Azure network infrastructure. Azure Network Watcher provides some useful features such as network monitoring, performance analysis, diagnostics, metering, logging, etc. Its commonly used by System Admins or Network Admins to diagnose or troubleshoot communication issues such as delay, latency or destination reachability issues.

Q 9 What is Azure AD?

Ans Azure AD or Microsoft Azure Active Directory is cloud based directory and identity service solution. An user identity setup in Azure AD can be authorised to manage resource or consume data offered by the Azure resource. Azure AD is flexible such that it can function as a sole directory or sync with the On-Prem Windows ADDS. Azure AD offers features such as Single Sign-On (SSO), MFA i.e. Multifactor Authentication, Conditional Access, and it’s also multi-tenant. A wide variety of SaaS applications, external or from Azure Portal are starting to show their compatibility to Azure AD. Azure AD is also used by Office 365.

Q 10 What is Azure AD Connect?

Ans Azure AD Connect is a Microsoft application that is installed on On-Prem Domain Controllers, so that it can help the organisation to sync the directory objects to Azure AD. AD Connect is full of features such that it provides Pass-through Authentication, Password hash synchronization, AD object Synchronization, Federation Integration, etc.

Q 11– What is Azure Cosmos DB?

Ans Azure Cosmos DB is an Azure Fully managed NoSQL database offered in Azure Arm Portal. Cosmos DB offers ultrahigh and super massive performance with access time as low as single-digit millisecond latency, speed and performance at any scale and automatic and instant scaling at any time. It’s enterprise class security and SLA assurance for high availability is what attracts organizations towards Cosmos DB. Its cost effective as well as fully managed by Azure, i.e. Azure automatically manages it, and its updating and patching is also taken care by Azure.

Q 12 What is Azure SQL Database?

Ans Azure SQL Database is a structured relational database service available in the Azure ARM Portal. Its schema bind architecture is suitable for most applications. It’s a Platform as a Service (PaaS) i.e. Azure manages aspects such as backup, updating, patching and monitoring. Azure takes care that Azure SQL Database is always running the latest version of the engine. Azures SLA offers an assured 99.99% of high availability. It’s based upon a stable and the latest release of Microsoft SQL Server and in-fact Microsoft releases any new capability to Azure SQL Database first and then to the Microsoft SQL Database. In Azure Portal, the SQL Database is very easy to create, backup and configure, compared to Microsoft SQL Database. With its PaaS design, the underlying infrastructure (Such as server, network, storage, etc.) or the Operating System is no more managed by us, it’s all taken care by Azure.
