How to become a powerful communicator?

If you want to become a more effective communicator who connects rather than merely communicates. The following are the four things you should be aware of.

  1. Your energy, even more than conversation, is the most critical factor in establishing a connection. Simply said, energy refers to how you feel and how you present yourself in terms of posture, thoughts, and emotions. When you get that part right, it speaks a lot about your message.
  2. Your personality and appearance, after your energy, are the second most important factors in how you interact. That is to say, most people haven’t actually heard you, and the first thing they do is to see what they can see with their eyes. So, simply by looking at you, they’re already forming immediate and subconscious judgments about your attractiveness, credibility, and leadership abilities. So, if your personality, what you wear, and how you come across do not demonstrate that you are a person who is believable, beautiful, and capable of leading, then your perception in the mind of the person you will be speaking to has already been diminished.
  3. Tonality is the third item to consider. Tonality refers to how you speak and even write. You should not be hesitant to communicate what you’re thinking. Your words should be delivered with zeal. Others should be able to sense and feel it as well. The tonality must be distinct.
  4. Lastly, it’s the words that you pick. Word selection is of course important. More specific words give a clear and right message.

Most importantly, your energy, followed by your personality and appearance, intonation, and finally your words, convey everything. So, primarily, you should concentrate on the first three items, followed by your lovely choice of words.
